About Lindsay
Expertise
I can help with ANY aspect of love letters, because I am a complete and utter, hopeless romantic. I know exactly what a guy or girl wants to read whether your aim is to simply let your boy/girl friend know how much you care or if you`re looking to score a date with that special someone you`ve been eyeing at the gym. I have quite a flare for love letters; what can I say?- my favorite movie is Sleepless in Seattle!

Experience
I am familar with the form because I often write them to my own crushes to hopefully win a date (and have been quite successful).

How to Write a Great Love Letter - Poetry

Expert: Lindsay - 5/26/2001

Question
Dear Lindsay,

I am a poet.  I love to write poetry of all kinds, do girls like that sort of stuff?  If so, what kind of poem should I write?

Thanx in advance,
Bob

Answer
Dear Bob,

Do girls love poetry... what a question.  Absolutely!  I know so many girls who dream to have their boyfriend write them a poem.  If you're writing to a girl who you've been dating and you want to let her know how much you care, you can write a very detailed and intimate poem.  However, if you want to write a poem for a girl who you aren't dating or have just started dating, than you might want to make sure it's not coming on too strong.  Although whoever it is you're planning to write to will love a poem about ANYTHING (as long it's not gothic or morose), chances are she'll like it that much more if you write a sweet poem about her and your feelings for her.  Just compliment her personality, appearance, etc and express you're desire for her.  You'll have to judge to what degree you want to do this at because, as I said before, you don't want to come on too strong.  Also, I suggest that you give it to her with a single red rose... it perfects and ties together the whole thing!

I hope that I've been some help and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Lindsay
