Question
I'm getting ready to print off my first three chapters for a publisher.  I read somewhere to use 20 lb bond paper.  What is the difference in bond paper?  I have regular 20 lb 8 1/2 by 11 in. printing paper. Will that do?

Answer
Dear Brandon,

Always request writer's guidelines before sending in your query letter and first three chapters; sometimes publishers prefer one paper stock (weight) over another. However, in general terms, it's best to use 8.5 x 11" white bond paper (16-20 lb bond).

Thanks for writing, and I hope this helps --

All Best,
Catherine Van Herrin
