Writing Books/writing books

Hi, I've always wanted to be able to write books, especially fantasy, but I can never get any ideas. How do you start out in a situation like this? Does it get easier to think of good ideas the more you practice it? Also, how do you create really good believable characters? Thanks for your advice.

To "be able" to write books indicates that you need to join an Online writers group. Search the MSN groups for writer workshops and groups, especially "fantasy writers" and join up for free.

Learn with them, learn from them. They can help you "begin" and you can post your stories and they will help you with critiquing them and teaching you.

Practice and knowledge. That is what it takes. Plus a natural talent and good story idea and a good, strong outline of the story to keep organized.
