Question
can a person use your name in a book with out asking first??

Answer
Vicke... good question and the answer is... maybe...

It depends on several factors...are you famous? Is your name being used in a "good" way? Did they interview you?

And a whole bunch of other factors mainly around the question HOW is it being used.

I use lots of my friends names in my fiction writing, but always in a "good" way...  other wise, I use only their first or last name.. If I'm doing a non-fiction piece I always ask permission first.

I know this isn't much of an answer, but it's the best I can do not knowing the specific circumstances in which your name was used.

Also I am not a lawyer...so my answers always have to be very generalized.

Sorry.
