Writing Books/format for a letter within a novel

Question
Is there a proper format (punctuation, indentation, etc.) for the inclusion of
letters within a novel? Can you suggest a contemporary novel that contains
letters?
Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hello Judith,

Your prose introduces the fact that there is a letter coming.  You may skip a couple of lines and then use a different font or italics for the letter.  Then simply type the letter including all its parts. Skip a few lines after it before resuming the prose.

My novel, The Eighth Evil, contains letters.

Best wishes,
Dorothy
