Question
QUESTION: Hi. I'm curious, how do people get into freelance book editing? Thanks

ANSWER: Actually, there is no such thing as "freelance editor." Freelance writer, yes.

If you want to book edit, then you will need to set up an editing website advertising your services.

There is much more to book editing than "editing."

There is proofing/proof reading, copywriting and copyediting, character development, plot development, full services, etc.

Check out my editorial company and you will see the services and fees:

And remember, it is copyrighted so my content cannot be used for your own site. But I will be glad to help you develop your own editorial site.

QUESTION: I also wanted to know what book editors at major publishing firms in New York City earn, from associate editor level to senior editors?

Answer
That I would have no idea.

There is no way to know that data.

What a profession earns depends on many, many factors; how experienced they are- the years of experience, what firm they work for, do they know someone who knows someone in order to benefit them in some way, what position they are in, the area they live in, so many factors.

And please rate the 2 follow-up questions you have asked, please.
