Question
Greetings, I'm writing a Non-fiction book and I'm including whole articles from different authors, from paragraphs to several pages in length. Do I need permission? What are the rules concerning this?
Thank You.

Answer
Claude,

I would assume you'll need permission to reprint anything ranging from a paragraph to a full article, probably from each individual author. The problem is authors sell different publishing rights to different magazines, books, etc., so you'll have to be careful about it. To be on the safe side, I would suggest you contact each publisher directly and ask for permission.
