Writing Books/Getting Published

I am having trouble finding publishers, I have no idea who to send my nonfiction autobiography to. I know nothing about finding a publisher, my book has been written for a year now but I can't find anyone to help me get a publisher who doesn't want a lot of money up front. Whatever you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you are well-known and/or have a unique perspective in your autobiography, you are going to have a hard time finding a reputable publisher.  You are wise to avoid subsidy publishers (they take your money upfront but do not give you the results that you want).

You might want to develop a main point, such as lessons learned from given experiences or instructions on how to do something for a nonfiction book instead.

I can answer questions about getting ideas for books, approaching publishers and agents, developing book proposals.
