Question
IS THERE ANY SOFTWARE I CAN BUY THAT WILL HELP ME SET UP A BOOK? INDEX, CHAPTERS,EXEC.

Answer
Hi Rosemarie--
The good news is, software that you likely already have can do what you are looking for. Microsoft word has a wealth of features that will  allow you to extract items from your manuscript and automatically create indices, chapters, table of contents etc.

As far as software designed specifically for indexing etc, I did some internet surfing and found this article:

http://www.anindexer.com/about/sw/swindex.html

It has LOTS of information on the pros and cons of approaches you can take, and if you scroll down to the bottom there is a list of general indexing software as well as software geared toward very specific niches of information.

There are also people out there who do this for a living and that could be a happy medium for you in terms of cost and time. Here are two you could contact whom I have connected with through my work:

Hope that helps!
