Question
Is Self-publishing better than finding a publisher

Answer
Dear Elicia,
Thank you for your question. It depends on why you're publishing the book. If you have a ready-made audience, such as your studens or colleagues, then you can publish it yourself and make it available to them.
However, if you are hoping to sell the book to an audience you don't know yet, such as "the public," then you're better off going with a traditional publisher.
Having a good publisher underwrite your book shows that they have confidence in you and the book. This helps attract potential readers.
If you want me to be more specific, tell me what you're book is about. I will keep your ideas confidential.
Meanwhile, at my page for writers I have posted an article on how to find a publisher. See:

Sincerely,
