Writing Books/Word Count, also What Next?

Question
Dear Nori,  I wonder if you could let me know what is a decent minimum word count for a fictional novel?  Also, I have written a proposal for a book, and also carried out quite a lot of initial research on it's subject and would like to find legal representation to act as a go between, between myself and potential publishers.  Can you recommend anyone in particular please?  Thankyou.

Answer
Dear Jacqueline,
Thank you for your questions.
Novels are usually a minimum of 100 pages. With 25 lines of 10 words each, each page is about 250 words, so you're looking at 2,500 words minimum.
Any shorter than that and you have a novella, a long short story.
I can recommend a good entertainment attorney. Tell him i sent you:

Also, at my page for writers i've posted some additional materials you might find helpful. See http://steamboats.com/writing.html
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Nori
