I do not have any experience writing books and I was wondering if experience has a lot to do with a publisher deciding whether or not to pick your book. If so, how much of the decision is based on this.
Depends on whether you are independenant for full-service publishing.
In the case of full-service publishing, of course you must have experience. Most of these publishers only take writers who are already well-known.
If independent publishing, you need some experience, yes, but the publisher you choose should have a full professional staff to help you where you lack.
