Writing Books/money and books

I'am doing a project for school, and I was wondering how much money goes into making a book?

Thanks for the question.  There are a number of answers to this but we will try and break it down.

There is the investment of the authors/authors time to write the book.
The cost of a program like MS Publisher or Quark for the page layout.
The time to do the typesetting.
The time for the proofing and editing and reentering the changes.
The above are all development work.
You then have the cost to proof, print and ship the book to you.
Then you have the costs to sell and ship the book on your end.
This is a start if I can be of further service let me know.
These questions just showed up for me so I am sorry that I am answering them late.

When you are ready to print your book I can help you with how to prepare your book for the printer, what to expect from a printer and what you must understand yourself. How long does it take to print a book and methods of printing that make sense and what your costs should be in the process.
