Question
I have been a wife of an Army soldier for 11 years. My husband and I have been though alot with the military. To include 4 major deployment.  3 of those to Iraq within 6 years. I have stayed back with all the other spouses and been VERY involved with the FRG (family readiness group) I have been told over and over that our life is not that of the norm for military familys and that I should write a book about my life as a military wife. With all the good and bad that that implys. I have been thinking about it for a couple of years and have decide that I would like to give it a shot. So I guess my question to you is...Is this the type of book that people would be interested in? And also who would I go to to ask questions about format such as putting the "Truth" about being a military wife out there for people to read and learn from?

It could be since there is alot of war talk now. You should look for a publisher who accepts military-related books.

You can learn from websites about how to write a book. Writersweekly.com and Absolutewrite.com have articles and messageboards. Have you heard of Chicken Soup for the Military Wife's Soul? You might want to look at the stories in the book to get an idea of what a publisher wants. There are writing books that teach you how to write books. You would want to know how to write a memoir. Typing "how to write a memoir" or "how to write a nonfiction book" in search engines might give you good resources. Good luck.
