Expert: Roger S. H. Schulman Date: 5/5/2008 Subject: How to write a short cooking segment script
Question I am a Registered Dietitian who is creating sports related cooking segments. Can you suggest resources for me to learn about writing scripts specifically for 10, 20 and 30 minute segments. Are there outline formats out there to view, sample scripts to read that can help me figure out how to write somehting effectively?
Answer To better answer your question, I have a couple of questions of my own.
--Is this a program in production or preproduction, with a specific production company, or something you hope to get made (i.e., that you are pitching)?
--Tell me a little bit about the segments. Is it just one person talking to the camera? Two or more people? Does it have an audience, or is it just in a studio? Does it have one simple set, multiple sets, or does it go on location? Some combination?
--Is this for the Internet? Cable? Broadcast?
Thanks. Let me know what you can and I'll be glad to follow up with you.
