Question
Hi,

First of all, thank you for your time.

I am from Croatia and english is not my native language. I write novels, short stories and poetry. Poetry and short stories I write also in english and italian language.

The thing is now that I have a great idea for a movie script and once done, I will offer it on the U.S. market.

The big question now is ( i rely on your experience , shall I write it first in my language and then translate it or do it in english and then send it to an agency for lecturing?

What would you do?

Thank you.

Answer
I would say write it in Croatian and then have someone you trust, translate it into English. Maybe like a professor, or academic. Or you can even try and sell it on the British market. But write it in your native tongue then attempt to find a great translator to sit down with you and help you cross it over to English.
