Writing Plays/Screenwriting - Am I really any good?

Question
Is there some way you could review my idea? I've just completed my 3rd act, it's my first draft. Before I go to far I'd like to know if I'm "blow'in smoke up my own butt" or not. Could you help?

Answer
Hi Michael,

I really regret being the bearer of bad tidings, but the odds of a first draft screenplay getting optioned and produced are very, very slim -- equivalent to winning the lottery.  I could tell from reading your first ten pages, whether you have promise or not, but I can't predict your chances of success.  A lot of factors come into play, including elements like your persistence, your ability to promote yourself, where you live (L.A. increases your odds significantly), etc. etc.

If you want me to review your first ten pages and give you an assessment, go to

http://www.createyourscreenplay.com/Writer%27s%20Coach.htm

and order an hour of coaching.

I'll include a complimentary copy of my book IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STORY, ($16.95 value) which will help you self-assess your development of your idea.

See information about this book at

http://www.createyourscreenplay.com/iaatspaypalorder.htm

If you decide to order the book first, I'll credit the cost against any coaching you order later.

However you decide to proceed, I wish you all the best success.  We'll never have too many good writers.

Barry
