Writing Plays/Screenwriting/Copyright

While I've had other works published, this is my first screenplay, titled "Stay."

Is it necessary to get a screenplay copyrighted?  If so, at what stage of the process should I do this?

I would highly recommend copyrighting your screenplay and I would also suggest doing it with the Library of Congress versus WGA. Once you have a draft completed, I would even say Draft 1, if you are extra anxious or just want it protected. Since this is your first screenplay, I would recommend copy protecting it, after draft 1.
