Writing Plays/Screenwriting/Opening of a script

My script has ten minutes of talking scene, is this OK?

I assume you are measuring the running time by page count. If you have a ten-page scene with two characters talking, it's unusually long. But it's not unheard of. If you have more characters talking, it's a bit easier to take. It really depends upon the specifics of the scene. Yes, this length scene is not advised. No, it's not unheard of and there are no rules here.

If you want to tell me more about the scene, please write me at my blog http://scriptwriting.tumblr.com/ and I'd be happy to reply. I apologize for the delay in responding, but I check my blog much more frequently than AllExperts.

I can answer questions on the creative aspects of writing for features and television comedy: brainstorming, character development, plotting, story structure, dialog, rewriting, editing, etc. I can also address the business side of show business: pitching, writing and presenting treatments, "taking" meetings, common pitfalls, etc. I'm also well versed in the relationship between screenwriting and computers: software for scriptwriting, brainstorming, presentation, outlining, an d general organization. I'm also a producer, and so can answer questions regarding the ins and outs of television production, specifically the half-hour arena.
