Writing Plays/Screenwriting/Comedy Screenplay

Question
I'm currently writing a comedy. There are good characters, effective jokes but when it comes to the story... there is none. Help, please.

Answer
I think what you should do is figure out, what you are trying to say or comment on. Most comedies are rooted in a commentary, even in jest, comedians and comedy writers are trying to comment or say something about something. So I'd figure out, why are these characters here, why are they making jokes. About whom, or what are these jokes aimed.

Need further help...write back.
