Experience I grew up on the Sisseton/Wahpeton Sioux Tribe Indian Reservation in Sisseton, South Dakota. After high school I attended college at Minnesota State University in Fargo/Moorhead. After receiving my B.A. in English, I stayed in Fargo/Moorhead for two years, working as a proofreader, a librarian assistant, a cocktail waitress, and in customer service. I then moved to Colorado to attend Colorado State University, where I worked as Associate Editor for The Colorado Review while pursuing my Master's degree. After I graduated, I was able to stay in Colorado when I got a job as an editor and writer for Cottonwood Press, a small publisher specializing in supplemental books for teachers of English and language arts.
Question hi i haven't actually written a story im looking for more like tips well basically my assignment is all about just writing a part of a story and its an action scene of my monster so could you give me an idea for what i could do my monster is described like this he has three eyes,tiny strands of hair, extremely weird scaly skin, 7 rotting teeth that are wonky, extremely strong, spiked feet, 10 fingers on each hand, a extending neck and extendable arms i know it sounds really stupid but we have been told to do this about a weird monster so i did please get back as quick as possible i trust you more than anybody else on this list chelsie.

Your monster sounds crazy! :) How about this: Your monster is super ugly and scary, but all he really wants to do is help people. But every time he tries, people run away, or try to attack him with rocks, guns, etc. Or, you could just have a traditional scene where the monster is attacking a town. All you have to do for an action scene is make sure you include strong verbs. Instead of "walk," use "stomp," for example. Use a lot of sensory words and phrases, too, like those having to do with the five senses: taste, touch, smell, see, hear. Put the monster in a setting and add conflict. Then just imagine your story!
