Question What does the small pox have anything to do with aliens? Why did Mulder and Scully discover those filing cabinets full of files on people in that cave? What about that bounty hunter alien guy? Does he work to stop the alien colonists and if not, what is his position? What exactly is the Syndicate? What does the black oil do and why does the alien resitance guys with the flame sticks want to stop the colonists and the oil? Does the government or the Syndicate side with the colonists? Why are there clones of aliens or people (Im not sure which). Sorry about the many questions but my whole family is totally confused. If its possilbe, could you give us a short summary of the mythology storylne up to the end of season 5 that may answer the above questions. Thanks a bunch.

What does the small pox have anything to do with aliens?
- A very nifty discovery - small pox can kill the aliens, but also can be condusive to interlinking huma and alien dna...without the alien dna completely taking over.
Why did Mulder and Scully discover those filing cabinets full of files on people in that cave?
- They are always looking for answers and evidence - the files were of people genetically modified, or being planed for modification.
What about that bounty hunter alien guy? Does he work to stop the alien colonists and if not, what is his position?
- The bounty hunter is trying to keep tabs on all assimilated alien/human hrbrids..when the cover is blown (of course prior to colonisation of full aliens) the bounty hunter destroys evidence.
What exactly is the Syndicate?
- The sndicate are high ranking men in global society who have funded the xperiementation into hybrid...after clonisation they will be the only real humans left - them and their families...that was the deal they made with the aliens
What does the black oil do and why does the alien resitance guys with the flame sticks want to stop the colonists and the oil?
- The oil is actually the way pox can be transported, and of course the aliens dont like that. Wants to stop oil production as this is the way to stop the aliens. Syndicate made oil so they could control aliens, they still had a trump card after colonisation, if the aliens ever went back on their deal.
Does the government or the Syndicate side with the colonists? Why are there clones of aliens or people
- Government controlled by sydicate - hence cancer man's power/presence in everything. Sydicate wants to encourage colonisation, but would like to still be able to control the colonies and the aliens...hence the oil. They had to see if aliens would alter humans so they began hybredizing and then cloning, looking for a way to coexist - it became apparent (with the arrival of the bounty hunter) aliens had no intention of coexisting...so syndicate had to come up with paln to be able to keep control (oil)...plus they kept working at hybredizing aliens - but keeping human appearance (that way no difference between aliens and humans...keeping all equal - but with a defence mechanism - oil) Scully's baby is perfect hybrid...
All very confusing...my suggestion to you and your family is to watch the Alien hybred series...all on video now
