Question Hi I actually had a couple of questions if you might be able to answer them, I am a huge fan and know a lot but there are a few things that have always bothered me. For one, in season 5 episode Travelers-Mulder is wearing a wedding ring and smoking a cigarette. It's a flash back so they give the impression that he was married at one point and he smoked. In fact there is also the episode Uusual Suspects from that same season where it's an obvious flash back and Mulder is there wearing a wedding ring again. That has always bothered me and never seemed to come up with any interviews with cast and crew so I was wondering if you may be able to answer that. Thanks!
Answer Mulder was wearing a wedding ring in those episodes because it was right after David Duchovney married Tea Leoni... It has nothing to do with the show at all. He wore it because he didn't want to take it off. Many people were worried about that, but that's the only reason. As for the smoking, I have no idea. That was the only time I saw him smoke, and it was never mentioned again.
