Why doesn't Aries try to help Xena in the final episode?
Because he knew he couldn't protect her forever. Xena was a strong woman. She made her own path and chose to die for it in the end. You have to remember, though the story was called Xena, I always felt it was about the birth of a new warrior. Gabrielle.
