Question QUESTION: Hi Xeny. When Xena and Gabrielle were crucified by the Romans, why did they go to Heaven and not the Elysian fields or Gabrielle sent to the Amazon afterlife?

ANSWER: Hello Sam. Thank you for your question. It's a good one. I honestly can say I have no clue with that one. But! I like to think Xena and Gabrielle had so much exposure to "The one god of the Israelites" as Xena so succinctly puts it, that they were no longer under the Gods of Greece. They had faith in the one God of Eli. They had found their "way." So, I think that put them under God's jurisdiction and that's why they went to Heaven this time around. What are your thoughts?

QUESTION: Hi Xeny. They did have a lot of exposure to Eli but probably more exposure to the Greek gods. And Gabrielle still called herself an Amazon and regularly took part in Amazon rituals. When they travelled to distant lands eg India, they came under the jurisdiction of the local gods. At the time of their crucifixion Eve had not been born and therefore the Greek god still ruled in Greece, but maybe the god of Eli was the dominant power in that part of the world where they died. Where was it that they died? At the base of which mountain?

Answer That was an interesting point of view! But, as to your followup, I can honestly say I have no idea. It's never mentioned in the episode. I know it was filmed on a soundstage in New Zealand. But as for the location of the mountain, no clue. I've hunted all over, but no one seems to know the answer. I'm sorry I couldn't answer your follow up. It was a good question too.
