Answer Xena is a character created by Renaissance Picture/Universal Studios back in 1994 as one of Hercules nemisis on the tv show, Hercules: The Legendary Journey. Upon view the ratings of the 3 episodes that had Xena, the creator, Rob Tapert, decided to do a spin-off show based on the Xena character.
General story line of the television show, Xena: Warrior Princess, is Xena's search for redemption of her pass evil deeds. She is actually a mortal who was trained by Ares, hence, her suprior fighting skills.
