Question Back about 1990 I was driving through Yellowstone and I saw an owl or eagle in a bare tree on a ridge top. It was 6 feet tall.
I really believe it was that big. I have been trying to figure it out. On the internet I see only snowy white owls (up to 27 inches) are any owls like a horned owl sometimes white. It may have been an eagle, but it was pure white from a distance.
Answer Hello Tom,
Actually, there are a number of different owl species that inhabit the Yellowstone region, although non six feet tall. Although Bald Eagles can get quite large, I've not heard of an albino one in the Park before. Trumpeter Swans also get quite large, and are white, and it is quite possible that you might have seen just that. A Pelican or Gull could also be a possibility. That just about covers the large birds that hang around Yellowstone.
