Question Hi, curious how long it takes to get from the south entrance to yellowstone to the grand teton park? Also, are there many hotel or cabins between the two locations, also with various choices for restaurants etc? Thanks
Answer It's less than ten miles between the South Entrance and the boundary of Grand Tetons, but there was construction there this past summer, which may continue into next. That made delays of 30 minutes or so. And the speed limit all along is mostly 45 miles per hour.
There is only one hotel south of Yellowstone and north of the outskirts of Jackson. That is the Jackson Lake Lodge, which also has cabins. The lodge is expensive but very nice. Then there are cabins and restaurants at Flagg Ranch, Colter Bay Village, and Signal Mountain Lodge, another restaurant at Leeks Marina, and a beautiful resort with a gourmet restaurant at Jenny Lake Lodge. You will need to make reservations at any of these several months in advance. See: http://www.nps.gov/grte or call: 307-739-3600.
