Question
Hi. I recently heard from a friend that certain repeating certain yoga poses daily can help to keep your body fit and also legthen the torso, making a person taller. Is this true. If so I would like to take up yoga. Thank you

Answer
Yoga itself cannot actually make a person taller.  Only genetics determines that.  Yoga can maximize the present length of a person.  Yoga can stretch the spine and other part of the body so there is maximum space between the vertebrae.  Yoga can realign the body so one sits straighter and stand taller so it will visually and mentally look like a person is taller.  Yoga only works with the tools (i.e. body) at hand.  Try it out and commit to do it and find out for yourself.  One or two times will not do it.  Yoga like anything takes repeated and repeated practice.

Best
wishes.
