1.  The most common cause of groin pain in males can be due to muscle strain due to injury during sports. Or it can be due to condition of testicles which can cause pain spreading to groin area. There can be a number of reasons for groin pain. You must visit your doctor to know the source of your groin pain and to make sure there is no medical condition which needs urgent attention. 2.  Consult a doctor and identify the cause of your groin pain. In case you are new to yoga,it is recommended to make a visit to a yoga teacher and get a simple yoga sequence. Yoga practice consisting of simple asanas, pranayama and meditation can provide you relief from pain. Yoga practice will help with the following:

~ Improve blood circulation in your body and also the affected organs.
~ Relaxation and toning of the muscles in the affected area.
~ Relaxation for whole mind and body will help to avoid stress, anxiety and provide pain relief.
~ Help to get sound sleep

3.  Here are some yoga poses which can help:

~ Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
~ Shalabhasana (Locust Pose)
~ Pavanamuktasana (Wind Relieving Pose)
~ Baddha Konasana (Cobbler Pose)
~ Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
~ Balasana ( Child Pose)

4.  After the asanas do the following pranayama

Anulom-Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing)
Bhramri
Ujjayi (Ocean Breath)
Kapalabhati
Aum Recitation

5.  In the end relax in shavasana (Corpse Pose)for 5-10 minutes. Time permitting perform yoga nidra two or three times a week.

6.  General guidelines:

~ Avoid forward bends and restrict forward bending in your daily life.
~ Avoid smoking drinking and eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
~ Drink adequate amount of water.
~ Preferably take vegetarian diet.
~ Do not wear tight pants.
