Yoga & Tai Chi - GROIN PAIN

Expert: Gulshan Kumar - 10/19/2009

Question
Hi my name is Pankaj and a male of 22. since last 2 months i am suffering from groin pain. The pain is not so sharp and it is mild but it is preventing me from free movement of my groin on my right side So could you tell me some yogic asana which can help me."

Answer
Dear Mr. Pankaj,

Thank you for writing.

Presuming that yours is groin pain, try as follows:

Apply cold compress by using ice bags or cold pack or even a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a thin towel for 10-15 minutes only on that area. After 10 minutes, wrap the thigh with an ACE bandage to keep that area compressed.

But if your pain or swelling does not decrease, make an appointment to see your physician.

Once the healing process has begun, very light massage with oil (lukewarm in winter) may improve the function of forming scar tissue, cut healing time and reduce the possibility of injury recurrence.

Disclaimer: The above is informative only and should be done in consultation with your medical physician.

With regards,

Gulshan Kumar
