Question
i have been masturbating for long time since the age 18 and now i`m 25 and i do masturbate once a  day some times twice sir plz help me to stop this.

give me some ways to stop this habit and to lead my life safely sir please help me.....??

Dear Mr. Kumar,

Thank you for writing to me and the same has been duly noted and accordingly suggested as follows:

Had you written about your life style alongwith occupation and country, I would have been convenient to suggest you.

You have become addicted to masturbation.  You may follow the following things:

1. Avoid being alone as much as possible. Find good company and stay in this good company of spiritual people or people who are quite mature to learn from them.

2. If you are associated with other persons having this same problem, YOU MUST BREAK OFF THEIR FRIENDSHIP. Never associate with other people having the same weakness. Don't suppose that two of you will quit together, you never will.

3. Avoid pornographic material.

4. Early to bed and early to rise. Avoid late night meal accordingly. This is highly recommended.

5. After getting up early in the morning. Start some exercise schedule that may include gym, asanas, pranayamas, etc. This work out should be of 1-2 hours for you and those, who are habitual of masturbating.  Join some gym as well as yoga classes.  Also do shatkriyas - Kunjal, jala neti, sutra neti.

6. Use your energy in some creative work and only then you would be able to get rid of this habit.

7. Learn to manage your stress and anger. This may also be a reason to get rid of same through masturbation.

8. Take psychotherapy from any qualified therapist.

I hope that the above points would help you to get rid of this habit.  Remember a habit is created in 28 days of repeated action and the same is reversed in the same number of days. So, try it.
