Redusing how many Kg's per month is good for health? I want to  reduce 15 kg's in 2 months with yoga and pranayama is it good to lose 7 1/2 kg's per month?

To lose this much how much time I have to practice yoga and pranayama? Plz reply soon.

Thanks in advance
Sandhya.

Answer
Dear Sandhya,

I offer my best wishes...

Further, I would like to mention that yoga and pranayama would balance your body weight as the body needs for its proper functioning and not can it be used for only weight reduction; though this may be secondary result;

It would be possible to answer only in respect of normal weight reduction per month, if the your present weight is mentioned.

To maintain health and weight, it is presumed that one needs to go for isometric workout also - warming up for at least 25-30 minutes and there after getting a break of relaxation isotonic - yoga exercise for 30-45 minutes and pranayama for 20 minutes without any strain concluding with progressive relaxation at the end for 15 minutes.

It is also prescribed that yoga and pranayama workout should be done under the guidance of qualified yoga therapist.  Alongwith it, I would also suggest to go for diet chart that is prepared by some qualified nutritionist.  Only then there would be synergistic effect of both - yoga therapy and diet therapy to fulfill the said purpose.

I am glad to take this opportunity to assist you and hope that the above information may have been of some help to you.

Please feel free to write to me on the subject.

With regards,

Gulshan Kumar
Yoga Therapist
