Subject: can yoga cause belching?

Question
I am writing on behalf of a 90 year old student in my Senior chair yoga class- very gentle. He is very stooped over but enthusiastic. The class is unfortunately scheduled soon after breakfast (I have no control over that timing). He reported to me yesterday that every class he finds himself belching the whole time (quietly, so not to disturb the others). This does not happen on any other day but Yoga. None of the other residents have this occurence. Any insight?

I am quite impressed to learn that one 90-year old student is yoga aspirant and enthusiastic about it.

As regards the belching problem, I would like to request you to kindly let me know about the yoga class as to what exercise are performed by him. Only then I would be able to look into the matter.
