Question
our yorkie is 1 and a half years old. tonight she had a loose stool with bright red blood in it, what could cause this and what do we do till we can get her to a vet on monday?

Answer
Trish,

I wouldn't worry to much.  Sometimes they can have a bloody stool for no apparent reason.  If she were older I would have been more worried.  It is still a good idea to take her to the vet just to have her checked out.  Take a recent stool sample with you to the vet so he can check for worms.
