Question
I would love to Visit Yosemite in July (!-5) but I was told that that is the worst
time to visit as the crowds are emormous.  What do you think?  Is it really that
crowded?

Answer
The biggest problem with visiting at that time of year is finding lodging.  If you are outside of the park there can be lines where you enter...not good.  If you can find lodging within the park then the crowds will be tolerable...remember, its a large park and there are lots of areas worth visiting that are away from crowds....look into the high country, White Wolf, Toulumne, etc.  I have been there over July 4th weekend and enjoyed it very much...

Like I said, the real problem is lodging.  I would not want to stay outside the park and try and visit that weekend.  And unfortunately, it may already be too late for this year to get lodging within the park.  Try calling the park's accommodation phone number (look it up by googling; I don't have it) and asking for cancellations.
