Question I'll bet you haven't seen that subject line before! Anyway, our family will be spending 3 nights in a Curry Village canvas cabin this month. As a diabetic, I need to keep something sweet nearby at all times. I've read all the bear warnings and am wondering what to do about this at nighttime. Would it be safe to keep a sealed bottle of OJ, perhaps in a ziplok bag, in our cabin? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
Answer Hi Peg,
You're right, I haven't seen that subject line before.
As for beating the bears, I've always felt it's a numbers game. You do everything you can to lower your risk, and go with it. I think a small unopened bottle of OJ should be safe enough in your tent cabin. Bears go for the easiest meal, and you should be safe enough. The bears won't be as active in September as they are in the spring.
