AboutMaryJo Mellado Willey Expertise I have been going to Yosemite National Park since I was 10 years old (back in 1970), and consider one of my favorite places in the world. I have camped there, stayed in cabins, Housekeeping, and the tent cabins in Curry Village. I have gone on various hikes, and visited different sites.

Question Hi,
My name is Adam and I live in Ohio. I'm trying to plan a week long hike some where out west, California preferably, and sometime in early fall 2006. I've been looking at Yosemite the most but looking for any suggestions over all. Never been to California before and I have a free round trip ticket that I need to use. I will be flying in so any suggestions on the nearest airport for that destination would be halpful too.
Please send responses to this email account only... it works best for me. Thank you so much for time.
Adam
Answer Hello Adam,
There are several trails that you can take in the Sierras. Yosemite would probably have the most popular ones that go in the high country, and with high sierra camps to stay in. You can also choose trails out of Sequoia National Park, or on the east side of the Sierras, by Mt. Whitney.
If you decide to hike in Yosemite you might consider flying into Fresno, but also check into flying into San Francisco & taking a bus to Yosemite-- I know people have done that, but I don't have any personal experience with it.
Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a wonderful time!!
