I cannot answer questions cocerning the writting or publishing of books. I am very bad at locating books that people have read in the past. Question I like John Marsden books, especially the Tomorrow series. Can you recommend any books like the Tomorrow series?

If you like John Marsden's Tomorrow series then I would recommend the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Also try a book called 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins, that series is really great.
