How did they start out?
Experience Been watching the show pretty much since it started, though I did not get real addicted to it until the early 80's. I started watching with my mom, who always had it on. I know the show so well now, I feel like I could write it!I certianly feel like I know the characters.
Question I remember that he lost his memory and was married to someone else. But I can't remember what happened to him? Do you remember if he's dead or alive?
This all started because we are wondering why mary is so concerned about not seeing Ricky anymore when she has 3 missing kids and 1 other missing grandkid, not to mention a MIA husband!

To answer,
Carl Williams is still alive, they played the story line out basically. Mary and Paul met him and he came back to GC for a while and never recovered his memory, and eventually went back to the wife he married during his memory lapse. Paul went and visited them a few times, then the story just "died" I suppose. On the other note, unless you know something I have forgotten, Mary only had Paul and Patti. Patti ran off several years ago and they never hear from her, though she is mentioned from time to time. Paul was married briefly to a girl named April, I believe, and they had a girl together, and when they divorced, she left town and paul never sees the daughter, nor does Mary.
