Experience Been watching the show pretty much since it started, though I did not get real addicted to it until the early 80's. I started watching with my mom, who always had it on. I know the show so well now, I feel like I could write it!I certianly feel like I know the characters.
Question How did Christine's nickname Cricket come about? I've always wondered about this

Answer Mel,
When Christine first appreared on the show in the early 80's, she just had a small part, and was a teen model for Jabot. She was always known as "cricket" then. She was the niece (I think) of the Jabot photographer. Everyone knew it was a nickname, but no one ever called her by anything different. It was only when Cricket grew up and wanted to ditch her little girl identity that people started calling her "Chris" and "christine".
