Question I have 2 questions 1 can you plz explain priority to me along with ignition and trigger effects like how do I tell which is which and which can I call priority on? second honest vs kalut and the substeps in which I can activate them in?
Answer You can call priority on effects that take place when a monster is summoned. For example ,the monarch monsters get their effects when they are tribute summoned, so they get their effect first. This is both good and bad for you. For example, if your opponent tribute summons caius, and u have a monster face down and 2 traps face down (bottomless trap hole and mystical space typhoon), and ur opponent chooses to remove from play one of ur traps, that one trap can be the bottomless trap hole which you would just activate. However, if u dont wait for ur opponent to choose, and u activate the bottomless, then ur opponent can choose the mystical space typhoon after u activate bottomless, or even ur monster after u activate botomless, cuz you lowered the number of choices for ur opponent.
An ignition effect is one that requires a cost, like discarding a card or paying life points. A trigger effect is the effect that usually gets priority, its an effect that takes place after something happens.
Honest increases the attak of a ur light monster by the attack of the monster its battling with.
Kalut increases a blackwing monsters attack by 1400. Here's an example battle. Imagine your opponent has 5 cards and an aurkus on the field with nothing else down. You have 5 cards and a shura on the field with nothing else down.
1 - You attack aurkus with shura. Your opponent discards honest, now aurkus's attack is 1200+1800= 3000.
2 - You discard a kalut, now your attak is 1800+1400=3200. So your opponent responds and discards another honest. Now aurkus is at 3000+3200=6200.
3 - You resond and go all out and discard 2 more kaluts, so shura is at 3200+2800 = 6000, and you lose the battle but you lose only 200 life points so its okay.
Honest is a lot better than kalut since you can summon it in face down defense mode and it would be 1900 defense, you can return it to ur hand in any main phase of your turn, and it increases by an X unfixed amount whereas kalut increases by a fixed 1400.
