Yu-Gi-Oh/Fiendish chain and Utpoia question

I had 2 questions for you.

If a resuce rabbit is normal summoned to the field, and my opponent activates fiendish chain on him. Can he still use his effect to banish himself?

If Utopia attacks your opponent, and they activate a deep prison, can you use Utopia's effect to negate his attack all together, so deep prison isn't activated?

1.  No - Fiendish Chain would most likely be activated upon Summon.  With the new rules on Summoning, the Summon must be successful - and the opponent have the opportunity to respond even with cards that don't specifically negate summons - before he could use his effect.

2.  I believe you mean Dimensional Prison (or D-Prison?)  If so, no.  That would not work.  If Utopia declared an attack, then Dimensional Prison were activated, even if Utopia's effect were used in response, the activation of Dimensional Prison was still correct.  It doesn't require the attack to continue going through, but rather just that it be activated in response to one.  Utopia would still be banished.

Actively considering seeking a new guru for the category - have not been playing often enough to keep up with the metagame. I WILL ONLY BE ANSWERING RULINGS QUESTIONS. I WILL NOT BE DOING DECK FIXES UNTIL I RETURN TO ACTIVE PLAY.
