AboutPatrick Expertise I can answer any questions about RULINGS only with the Yu-Gi-Oh English TCG. I get my information from the official source, so if you tell me something that contradicts the official rules, I will give you the exact ruling(or similar situation) with explanation. Experience I know the rulings.. and I only get them from the official source. Even then, some people will do anything to win(even if it goes against the rules), such as arguing who's right and wrong.

Question Hey, i picked up a machine re-volt set and im polishing it up a tad. Was dueling
a friend and we kinda got stuck. I'm curious, say for example i had 1 face-up
ancient gear golem and a face down rare metalmorph. Opponent (in main phase 1) uses something
along the lines of brain control/enemy controller targeting my ancient gear golem would i be able to activate the rare
metalmorph and then also instantly use its effect to negate brain control or
not?

Answer Here is a ruling similar to that:
RULING: "If you chain "Rare Metalmorph" to an effect like "Snatch Steal" that targets a monster, "Snatch Steal" is equipped but its effect is negated while "Rare Metalmorph" is active."
For Brain Control/Enemy Controller, my guess is that the effect disappears.
