About Damien Carey
Expertise
I can answer questions about rulings and I will do deck fixes in the Advanced format. However any question concerning deck fixes must include the deck's strategy, or the goal you are ultimately trying to achieve. Sure i could just churn out cloned decks simply because they bear a resemblance to the deck you are trying to produce, but where is the fun in that? My specific areas of expertise centre around Dark World, Gadgets, Monarchs, Chimeratech, Cyberdarks, Warriors and Crystal Beasts. I am a moderator on the new site www.freewebs.com/icaruswing under the name Pinion (pegasus-pinion) and if i am maxed out here then you can try me there.

Experience
I'm a Level One Judge and I have been playing Yugioh since 2000. However i took an extended leave of absence in 2004 and only returned to the game in July 2006.

Publications
I post my own articles on my bebo site, which are available for anybody to view.

Education/Credentials
I have been out of University where I studied Computer Game Design, for the last three years.

Awards and Honors
Since returning to the game i have attended every tournament possible. I am averaging between 4th and 8th place but i seem to be improving. I recently came 25/164 in the Irish Nationals. and 1 took 2nd Place at the Force of Breaker Sneak Preview

Yu-Gi-Oh - hi can u hlp me fix up a cyberdarkdragon deck?

Expert: Damien Carey - 6/15/2007

Question
QUESTION: hi i am currently interested in making a cyberdark deck for tournament. But i have no idea of how to make it i saw how other people made that deck should i follow that idea? The deck is listed like this:

Monster X25
CyberDragon X3
Cyberdark edge X2
Cyberdark keel X2
CyberDark horn X2
HoundDragon X3( its a new card that comes out in ocg for tactical evolution, its atk is 1700 and its 3 star)
MaskedDragon X3
Infernal Dragon X2
Exploder Dragon X2
Cyber Pheonix X2
Ufo Turtle X2
Metamol pod X1
Twin-headed Behemoth X1

Magic X13
Giant trunade X1
Hurricane X1
Smashing Ground X2
Dragon mirror X1
Future Fusion X1
Overload fusion X1
Snatch Steal X1
Book of moon X1
Hand Destruction X1
Scapegoat X1
CyberDark Impact X2(A new card from tatical evolution that lets u send back 1 of each cyberdark edge, cyberdark keel, cyberdark horn back to the deck and special summon cyberdark dragon and also counted as fusion summon)

Traps X7
Destruction ring X1
Sakeratsu armour X2
Waboku X1
Call of the haunted X1
torrietal wave X1
mirror force X1

ANSWER: I don’t normally do deck fixes that include cards that have not been released. I will make an exception this time as I am familiar with the cards already. First thing first we need to trim your deck. Fusion Decks need a baseline Forty cards or they will not work right. Second. While hound dragon has a nice high attack and has been made to appear like a Cyberdark deck dream card. It is a normal monster with no effect and that attack just stops it from being searchable. Infernal dragon does not actually work with any of the cards except Cyber Dark Dragon himself.

Monster (machine 11)
CyberDragon X3
Cyberdark edge X2
Cyberdark keel X2
CyberDark horn X2
Ufo Turtle X2
(dragon 8)
MaskedDragon X3
Exploder Dragon X2
Dweller in the Depths X 2
Twin-headed Behemoth X1
(other 1)
Sangan

Magic X14
Giant trunade
Heavy Storm
Mystical Space Typhoon
Smashing Ground X2
Dragon mirror
Future Fusion
Overload fusion
Snatch Steal
Nobleman of Crossout
Confiscation
Scapegoat
CyberDark Impact X2

Traps X6
ring of destruction X1
Sakuretsu armour X3
torrential tribute X1
mirror force X1

That should work a little better. Remember that masked dragon can special summon dragons in defence, ufo turtle can search out masked dragon for a chain of special summon searchers of up to seven.

QUESTION: thanks for your help..may i ask if a cyberdark dragon equip to a dragon the dragon still will have effect?
ANSWER: Well yes and no. It depends on the specific wording of the dragon monster for example. For example. If Cyberdark horn equipped with Twin headed Behemoth is destroyed in battle then behemoth takes the hit and is destroyed. Thanks to the wording on behemoth if he is detroyed and sent to the graveyard you can special summon him back with reduced stats. ANy other monster whose effect activates when it is detroyed will gets its effect for you.

However Exploder dragons effect won't work as it will be destroyed by the Cyberdarks effect not by battle. Same with masked dragon. A Cyberdark Dragon equipped with Mirage dragon will not stop your opponent activating traps in the battle step as Mirage is considered an equip spell card. And will not get its effect as a spell.

In short
Monsters absorbed by Relinquished or Cyberdark cards do not get there effects unless those effect activated when destroyed and sent to the graveyard except as a result of battle.

is this good? as i seen demise otk deck ,monarch deck in my regions quite popular so i change it alittle i hope you won't mind.

Answer
Of course i dont mind. the deck fixes we provide here are general and open to interpretation a lot of the time. The kind of deck you play will ultimately be reflected by what decks your opponents are playing in your area. I think versus Demise and Monarchs that you have made good choices especially if these are your biggest fears.
