Question My husband had a run-in with a large rattlesnake in California the other day. He had to kill it, so we skinned it, and intend to eat the meat. We currently have it frozen, but a couple of people have said that rattlesnakes will bite themselves and poison their own meat when threatened. Sounds like an urban legend to me, but thought it wouldn't hurt to find out if this is true or not before we eat it.
Thanks
Answer Rattle snakes biting them selves is ridiculous. Would it make any sense for an animal to commit suicide in order to protect itself/ Of course not. Cook it up. I heard it tastes like chicken. Which by logical thought means that chicken tastes like rattlesnake
