Question
Well, I am not sure it this is an appropriate question for you or not b/c I clicked on the link for ipod, but your expertise descri[tion talked about computers.  So I am a bit confused.  Anyway, my questions are:  What is the difference between an mp3 player and an ipod?  Also, I have a cd player that can also play mp3 files.  How can it play a file?  I get the concept of putting a physical cd in the player, but I do not get the concept of it playing files.

Answer
No problem, for starter's an iPod and a MP3 player are the exact same thing. The only difference is the name EX, Microsoft Zune and Apple iPod these are all mp3 players. Now your CD player plays MP3's you say but the difference is the MP3's need to be on a disc. With an iPod or another player is the music is stored on a hard drive instead of a disc that you change. So no CD is needed. To play the songs, the iPod has a screen that allows you to put your music think of a tiny computer.
